This project spans 16 miles across Will County, from Ridge Road in the west to US Route 30 in the east. The I-80 corridor is a critical east-west route and a vital component of the national interstate system, handling about 80,000 vehicles daily, including a substantial volume of commercial traffic.

Our role in this transformative project includes managing the reconstruction of the Briggs Street Bridge over I-80 in Joliet, IL. Our construction team is supported by a diverse group of specialists including Resident Engineers, Liaison Engineers, and seasoned Veteran Construction Inspectors. Our collaborative efforts are bolstered by esteemed subcontractors such as TRANSLAND ENGINEERING GROUP, ATLAS ENGINEERING GROUP, and INTERRA, INC., who contribute expertise in assistant engineering, documentation, surveying, and highway materials testing, coordination, and QA/QC quality controls.

CEP’s experience also extends to numerous state and local projects, including the notable STH 82 Resurfacing Project in Marquette County, Wisconsin. This project involved:

  • 5.64 miles of milling and Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) overlay,
  • Cold-in-place recycling (CIR) of asphalt pavement,
  • Replacement of culvert pipes and culvert pipe lining,
  • Reconstruction of railroad crossings,
  • Comprehensive traffic control measures,
  • Application of pavement markings and rumble strips.
